| This document is published for archival/historical purposes. It will not be updated. |
The Victims of Crime leaflet is given to victims of reported crime. It explains broadly what happens when a crime is reported to the police.
Key points
Produced by the Home Office. The leaflet tells victim(s) or their families about:
what help is available
how the crime will be investigated and what they will need to do to help the police with the investigation
how they may be able to get compensation if they have been injured or if their property has been stolen or damaged
what will happen if they have to go to court
who they can contact for help and advice.
