National Asylum Support Services (NASS)

Some victims of trafficking may claim asylum which may entitle them to benefits from NASS. Whilst NASS benefits are available to asylum seekers while their application is being considered, or pending the outcome of an appeal, a person who has been granted humanitarian protection would not be entitled to NASS support.  However, a grant of humanitarian protection gives entitlement to other rights and benefits. Different arrangements apply to children under 18 whom the local authority have a duty to support and protect.
