Engaging all agencies
Local CDRPs have a statutory duty to set
crime reduction targets for their area. A Partnership Business
Model was develop and is an approach to problem solving and
partnership working to enable better decision making. It is
intended to build on current systems rather than creating new
systems. You can find out more by visiting
http://www.crimereduction.gov.uk/gppw02.htm.
Each of the 373 CDRPs will contain different partner agencies,
have different objectives and find different ways of achieving
them. You will need to consider the following:
·
Are we working with the correct partners?
·
Are our
objectives clear?
·
Do our
objectives have a set timescale?
·
Where will we
get funding from?
·
What will our
baseline be for each objective?
·
Are we involving
the community in our decisions?
Every
partnership will also need to be able to answer the following
questions:
·
What is the
problem?
·
What do we want
to achieve?
·
How will we
achieve it?
·
How will we know we have succeeded?
In order to
succeed you will need to make sure that you establish there is
a problem and then decide how to tackle it by partnership
working and mapping. You need to make sure it is a problem.
You need to have proper outcomes to ensure that the effect of
the change will be measured to see what the impact is. Ensure
you continue to measure progress to see if the change is still
working.
