Assessing the risk

As simple and quick survey around the farm will identify areas where the arsonist could strike. Your insurance advisor or local crime reduction officer may be able to assist you.

Your survey may reveal the need to:

Dogs and geese can give an effective early warning of intruders, however guard dogs must not be allowed to roam freely.

You should prepare a fire routine and action plan and ensure that all the farm workers know what to do. This should include provision for the evacuation of livestock.
