Do you have concerns about a child at risk from harm or witnessing domestic violence?
It is well documented that domestic violence is a risk factor for child abuse and vice versa (Humprey's, 2000). Research studies estimate that both women and children are abused in 30-60 per cent of cases (Mullender 2000). Recent Legislation has further defined 'harm' to children to illustrate that this can include 'impairment suffered from seeing or hearing the ill-treatment of another', for example, witnessing domestic violence.
