Aims
To provide good practice information on
1. a range of initiatives, which will be effective in tackling Domestic Violence
2. how to draw up an effective action plan.To provide a forum for practitioners from around the country to share successful ideas, explore problems and barriers to success, and learn from each other's experience.
Summary
Emma Churchill, Head of the Home Office Domestic Violence Unit, chaired the event and introduced the keynote speaker, Rosie Winterton MP.

Both speakers referred to the imminent publication of the government consultation, "Safety and Justice: The Government's Proposals on Domestic Violence" (June 2003).
Delegates then watched a drama performance by "AFTATHOUGHT". The play looked at the abuse of a woman by her husband, and the impact of that on their daughter. Delegates had the opportunity to question the characters in role after the performance. The company offer training through drama and can be reached at their website;
