Aims
To provide good practice information on a range of initiatives which will be effective in Community Engagement
To provide a forum for practitioners from around the country to share successful ideas, explore problems and barriers to success, and learn from each other's experience.
Summary
Margaret Geary, Regional Director, Government Office North West introduced the seminar and the keynote speaker Gabriel Chanan from the Community Development Foundation who presented on the topic What is Community Engagement?
In the afternoon, Irene Cole from the Home Office Crime Reduction Delivery Team gave a presentation titled Community Engagement: From the Centre to Beyond on the role and structure of the Home Office in community engagement and Margaret Geary talked about the Role of the Government Office in the Regions.
Delegates then attended two of the following four workshops:
