Good practice in e-tailing
About the e-tailing consultation group
The e-tailing consultation group grew out of work done by the Foresight Crime Prevention Panel that identified new crime threats through the e-tailing channel. One paper produced by the Foresight Panel considered the vulnerable stages in the e-tailing chain from manufacturer to customer, concentrating on the transactions rather than the physical security of the product. The other paper considered theft in the home delivery channel, identifying areas of vulnerability and making recommendations.

After the Foresight Panel completed its work, the e-tailing consultation group was formed to consider its findings and the recommendations it had made. The Good practice in e-tailing mini site was established following discussions in the consultation group with the aim of drawing together existing information for businesses and consumers who are buying or selling over the internet.
