The Government has published The Prevent Strategy: A Guide for Local Partners in England. The document is cross governmental and aimed at local partners and practitioners tasked with stopping people becoming or supporting terrorists and violent extremists.

The National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) has produced a new guide for police and partners working in all agencies to deliver neighbourhood policing within rural communities.

The latest annual crime figures have been published by the Home Office. They show substantial falls in most crime types. They also show that Public Service Agreement 1 (PSA1) - to reduce crime by 15% and further in high crime areas - has been met and exceeded.

The youth crime action plan calls for more work to stop children from getting involved in criminality. It calls action to get youths off the streets late at night, to provide intensive support for troubled families and to levy tougher, more visible community payback sentences for young people convicted of crime.
